Roosevelt at Brooklyn Center Thoughts

DLS and Concordia on hand to get a look at Brooklyn Center tonight. Nice size of crowd for this one and very vocal. BC star soph Freddie Young with 3 quick steals for layups. Roosevelt giving the ball away early for a 10-5 BC lead at 13:20. But they settle down enough to have Eddie Boler make a jumper and then Boler finds Gobana Sameru for 3 to give Roosevelt a 12-10 lead 3 minutes later. Brooklyn Center then uses a 10-0 run to take 25-14 lead with 4:40 to go in the half. BC 29-20 at the break. Boler with 6 at the break but very cold at approximately 3-11 shooting. Young with 11 with 4 steals for layins.

Shawn Edwards then goes off inside for BC to start the 2nd half. A bucket on the the post, then another and finally 2 more and the foul. Greg Snowden with 2 inside to conclude a 12-4 BC run to start the half. 41-24 BC at 13:50. Roosevelt tries to stop the bleeding but they can't throw it in the ocean. Snowden with a foul line J and a layup. Edwards with a putback and layup of his own to conclude a 10-2 run that blows this one wide open 55-30 with 8:50 left. BC rolls 65-45. Eddie Boler with 8 points on 4-5000 shooting (actually 4-20 or so but my unofficial estimates). Calvin Jenkins led Roosevelt with 10 points. Shawn Edwards with 17 of his 23 in the 2nd half and all inside. Freddie Young with all 11 of his in the 1st half. Roosevelt struggled rebounding in this one on both ends.

Roosevelt falls to 3-6 and they really struggle to score points. They go to Henry on Thursday. BC improves to 3-5 and they go to Concordia tomorrow before getting into the heart of their Tri-Metro West schedule next week. The loss of D'Angelo Potter to Dunwoody Academy took one of the Centaurs best scorers away. Both appear to be in the 5 or 6 seed range on each side of section 4AA.
