2015-16 Section 4AAAA Preview

This is the 22nd preview in my 2015-2016 season preview series.  The series moves on with a look at section 4AAAA.  For a list of all the season previews and how they are generated, click here.

Section 4AAAA (8 teams)
Defending Champion: Roseville

New teams in the subsection

• East Ridge (3AAAA)
• St. Paul Central (4AAA)

• Mounds View (5AAAA)
• Roseville (5AAAA)

Predicted Seeding

1. Tartan
2. Cretin-Derham Hall
3. Stillwater
4. North
5. East Ridge
6. St. Paul Central
7. Woodbury
8. White Bear Lake

CDH and Tartan are the 2 clear favorites here.  I think Tartan is better thanks to their 4 stars returning and Jarvis Thomas but a 3A league vs a 4A league gives CDH a chance to be the 1 seed.  Stillwater and North will battle for the 3rd seed.  East Ridge, St. Paul Central and Woodbury all have a chance to sneak into that 4th spot if North's youth hurts them.  Frosh Courtney Brown Jr at East Ridge is a wild card that could bump up the Raptors.  White Bear Lake is rebuilding.

Sleeper: North.  They taken some lumps but now have experience in a year where many in the section are rebuilding.  Add in the success at lower levels and they're a team that could surprise.

Section Winner: Tartan.  A leader and goto guy in Jordan Horn and quality interior play with great depth send another Mark Klingsporn group to state.
