The rest of 2011 opening week of AAU

I'll have more on the Comets Tourney later in the week, but some quick notes on everybody else.

Net Gain started their season in Milwaukee last weekend losing to eventual champion Mac Irvin in the round of 16 early Sunday morning.  They won their initial bracket game after losing 2 in pool play.

Howard Pulley's top 17s open their season with the 1st round of EYBL play in Hampton, VA.  Its their annual Boo Williams trip.  They open at 6:30 Friday night against EYBL newcomer CP3 (A Chris Paul sponsored squad from North Carolina).  Then a pair of games on Saturday with ICP-Portland and the Arkansas Wings.  The Wings just missed out on qualifying for the Peach Jam last year so all they did was come here for the Best Buy Summer Classic and win the whole thing.  Then they ran off and won AAU Nationals if I remember correctly.  Nike Team Florida and Athletes First (OK) are the Sunday opponents.  All of those games are outside of the Panthers Division A.

The SW Minnesota Stars will play in the first annual Worthington Daily Globe Hoops Fest this weekend.  It features their 17U squad taking on a local all-star squad.  Those events are Friday and Saturday at Worthington High School.

Pump N Run 16s and 17s are taking the week off before going on the road to Denver next weekend.
