Long distance cat fighting

Prologue
Its the rematch for the pride of Lakeville.  Lakeville South won the 1st game 56-52 on the road.  But can they defend home turf?  Winner breaks ahead in the South Suburban standings.

Game Time
Noah Nephew with a tough 2 to give him 7 early points.  North with an early 13-10 lead on that hoop.  Then here come the 3s.  4 different players connect from the deep beyond.  Its a 14-2 North run.  They knock down 7 of 11 3s on their way to a 25-16 lead at the 8:01 mark.  Lakeville South gets in the bonus and they proceed to make 5 straight free throws to pull within 27-23.  Cooper Laufenburger goes glass from 3 on the ridiculous angle.  Then he beats the halftime buzzer for his 4th 3 of the half.  37-26 Lakeville North at the break.

Nolan Winter with the 1st 5 Lakeville North points of the 2nd half.  Reid Patterson 2 long bombs for South but Blascziek hits one inbetween those.  North sticking with an effective 3-2 zone but South finds the middle man.  That leads to 2 kicks outs to Trystan Ressler for left wing triples.  51-40 North with 11 minutes left.  Then its the Will Blascziek show.  He goes spin cycle for 2, a step thru leaner, 2 free throws, screen and pop for a straight away 3, find Winter for a layup and then lets go in the post for a fadeaway.  Most of that is in the 15-3 run that blows the game wide open.  66-43 North in control with 6:34 left.  The rest is just garbage time.  Lakeville North rolls to a 80-52 win.

Post Game
Lakeville South falls to 6-5 overall and in the South Suburban.  This loss drops them out of a 3rd place tie with North and Rosemount (Irish upset Shakopee in OT tonight).  Reid Patterson with all 3 of his 3s in the 2nd half and 17 points to lead the Cougars.  Overall though, a good job on him defensively.  Trystan Ressler tried to keep South in it with his 4 triples and 16 points.  South is at Apple Valley and hosts Rosemount next week.

#8AAAA Lakeville North improves to 7-4.  They are tied for 3rd in the league with Rosemount.  Will Blascziek with a terrific 2nd half.  He scored 16 of his 19 points and was the catalyst of the big run.  Cooper Laufenburger was the 1st half offense with 14 of his 19 points in that half.  That included all 4 of his triples.  Noah Nephew 10 early points.  Soph Nolan Winter all 13 of his points in the 2nd half.  The 3-2 zone that North went to later in the 1st half was a difference maker.  It slowed the pace and South mostly never got comfortable against it.  The tough South Suburban road continues next week with a game vs Farmington and a trip to #4AAAA Eastview.

1st sweep of the 4 factors that I've seen in a while.  The 3 point shooting sticks out huge.  South 8-27 from 3 vs 12-23 for North.  This leads to one of the highest PPP values I've seen this season at 1.38.  Czar's law now 69-13 for the season.  Identical low turnover totals for each side.  The free throw margin expanded after the game already got out of hand.
