Welcome to Czar Season 18! To all the loyal peasants out there who are part of the cult following out there, thank you. Its always exciting to turn the page to another season. This is the time where a new school year means I flip the blog over to another new season. That includes a bunch of standard updates.
The usual list of fall leagues and camps is now posted on the Fall Hoops page. If I missed yours, please pass it along.
I will be once again doing my annual season previews (see page here). Significant changes to the schedule this season. I'm expanding it to a 4 week series with 19 previews. A few changes for the better there. First, I'll be splitting up the tiny school previews to separate out the EMAC, City Conference and Independents into their own previews. Last season I added the Wright County East to the preview list and they will stay on the list. The second change is that this year sees the addition of the Mississippi 8. Finally, I'll also be adding a preview to cover the 10 class AAAA schools that aren't in one of the metro conferences that I cover. That means that every single AAAA team will have a preview here. It also means that this will be biggest team list that my previews have ever covered. When its all done, there will be previews of more than 150 teams. I'm very excited about that. Those will kick off on October 21st right after MEA and lead into the start of practice on November 18th.
The list of class of 2025 players that have committed is now its own page. That list can be found here.
The annual holiday tournament schedule is also posted. Here's a list of the ones I know about currently. Schedules will be added as we get closer to the games themselves.
I've updated the current national recruiting rankings from all the major services. See that
on my Players page.
Once the college and NBA seasons get started, I'll be filling out the pages for Minnesotans that are playing D1 or in the NBA. I did this last year for the first time and it was a fun project as I don't get to follow the next level very much. Those links will be added to the menus once created.
For those of you reading on a phone (and you know who you are!), don't forget about the Resources page. Its always the 1st option in the menus. I've reorganized it slightly so that it matches the left hand menu structure you see when using a full computer view. This also includes the annual cleanup of any old, broken or unnecessary links. You can find links to anything and
everything you may want to know about Minnesota hoops during the high
school or grassroots seasons. It includes national recruiting sites, recruiting
calendars, signing dates, records and award winners just to name a few of the useful things that can be found there.
