2015-16 Section 3AAAA Preview

This is the 21st preview in my 2015-2016 season preview series.  We continue our look at class AAAA with a look at section 3AAAA.  For a list of all the season previews and how they are generated, click here.

Defending Champion: Apple Valley (defending state champion)

Predicted Seeding

1. Apple Valley

The 1 major competitor to Apple Valley for the section title (Cretin-Derham Hall) got moved to section 4.  I don't have any other team in the section picked above 5th in their league.  Most of this falls according to South Suburban finish.  Park clearly takes the 8 spot.  Eagan and Sibley fight for 6th.  Rosemount and Hastings battle for the last home game thanks to the South Suburban vs Metro East debate.  Eastview gets the 2 seed over Burnsville based on higher conference finish.

Sleeper: None.  The rest of the section is way down so there's nobody of note to pick here.

Section Winner: Park of Cottage Grove.  OK, maybe not.  With everybody back and the rest of the section down, there's no reason to believe that Apple Valley won't steamroll through this section with the possible exception of a rivalry matchup vs Eastview staying close.  It would not surprise me to see an Apple Valley game in this section go the stall route.
