NW Metro TV all area team (with 1 amazing mistake)

NW Metro TV came out with their all NW Metro team this week. We've got the entire Hopkins starting 5 either 1st team or honorable mention. Armond Battle makes 1st team and Matt Thomas is honorable mention from BSM. Jordan Taylor is not mentioned anywhere in a major oversight. That's not a joke, they actually left him totally out. BSM is 1 of the schools Channel 12 covers. That list includes Maple Grove, Osseo, Park Center, Champlin Park from the NW Suburban. Cooper, Totino-Grace and BSM from the N Suburban. Armstrong, Wayzata and Hopkins from the Classic Lake, Brooklyn Center and Breck from the Tri-Metro. Maranatha, Providence and Heritage from the MCAA.

You can read the entire list here.

  1. In NW TV's defense, it could be that Jordan Taylor was shut down everytime he was featured on air.

Or maybe they meant Jordan Taylor rather than Matt Thomas.

  2. They didn't include Taylor because he lives in Bloomington.

  3. jay, as in Jay Wilcox of Channel 12 confirming that he wasn't on the list for the reason list or another jay that is speculating?

  4. That makes sense. How much do you wanna bet that Jordan Taylor gets invited to the Inner City Classic, given that his school or his residence is not in the inner city?

  5. Czar takes back his Jay Wilcox comment after reviewing jay's other comments.

  6. Jay as in NOT Jay Wilcox. However, I did e-mail them and ask about the omission, and that was their response. Battle was included because he lives in Plymouth and Taylor was not because he lives in Bloomington. No logic to that, but it is what it is.

  7. Jay as in not the jay at channel 12. However I did e-mail them and that was the response that I got.

  9. That answer from them is insane, so you cover the teams but if the kid isn't from there they don't count? What about Hopkins?
BTW Jay, did you see my Ian Anderson comment in your debate on the La Crescent/SB game?

  10. Sorry about the multiple posts. I did see your comment. I'm from the La Crosse area so I was aware of it.

  11. I still struggle with Anderson not being in the coaches all star game. There is no way that he's not one of the top forty seniors in the state. I guess that since La Crescent is not in the metro area he didn't get the respect he deserved.

I had a chance to see 13 of the 15 players on the Tribune's All Coulee Region 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams and he was the by far the best on a consistent basis.

The only player that I saw this year that I felt was better was Lance Rongstad of Eleva-Strum who led his team to and undefeated season and the D4 Wisconsin State Title.
