To Roosevelt for a makeup game between the Teddies and Cooper. Early dinner means the beverage counter continues to take a beating this week. Another sparse crowd for this one. Roosevelt AD and former head coach Dennis Stockmo not in a flannel shirt. That caused a double take. Music outstanding including today's tune blasted on the PA with 9:36 left.

Nu Shooz - I can't wait
Game Time:
Early on offense is hard to come by for both sides. Ibrahim Elliot a couple of early hoops and we're tied at 7 at the 11:30 mark. Extra pass finds Elijah Hannah for 3 as Roosevelt jumps on top thanks to an 11-3 run. 14-10 Roosevelt at 8:50. A pair of Cooper buckets but their offense can't get going. Roosevelt takes advantage with a 12-4 run. London Cobbs and Arione Farrar finish that run with buckets. 26-18 Roosevelt at the break.
Good start for Roosevelt with Cobbs scoring and then Farrar with a no look bullet to Elliot for another layup. Hannah scores in the post, then a 3 off their oft used right elbow isolation and a pair of free throws. That stretches the lead to 14. Jayson Edwards and Taron Pickford with 3 point plays around a Cobbs bucket. Cooper within 39-29 with 12 minutes left. Then a 9-0 Roosevelt run seals it. Farrar with another slick assist to Elliot to finish that run. Taron Pickford with 2 more 3 point plays the rest of the way. Nice job taking contact and finishing. But the outcome was long decided. Roosevelt wins 65-44.
Post Game
Taron Pickford leads Cooper with 17 points, 11 in the 2nd half. Melvin Newbern with 10, most of them late. Jayson Edwards with 10. No head coach Steve Burton tonight but overall it was a major struggle regardless. Cooper hosts Richfield on Friday before trips to Kennedy and St. Louis Park next week. The Hawks are now 5-15 overall and 4-5 in the Metro West.
Arione Farrar leads Roosevelt with 14 points and a handful of assists. London Cobbs 10, Elijah Hannah 11, Ibrahim Elliot 12 for great balance for the Teddies. Hannah with a backscreen to a right elbow isolation is a set you have to prepare for. You'll also find him in the left corner for 3. The guards were able to get into the lane at will vs zone or man. Good rebound win for Roosevelt after a tough loss at North that allowed the Polars to clinch the Minneapolis City title. The Teddies finish city play with 3 on the road. Then the season finale is a dynamite tourney time tuneup against Breck. Guards galore in that one. Roosevelt is now 17-4 overall and 6-3 in the Minneapolis City.
